Content Marketing as a Vital Investment

Traditional marketing says you are the right choice, but content marketing shows your company is a dependable investment. Content marketing is critical for small businesses because it effectively builds brand awareness, allows for more customer interaction, drives in leads, brings in visitors, improves SEO results, and improves your customer retention rate. There is no doubt that a solid content marketing strategy is a vital investment for your company’s reputation and worth.

What is content?

Learning the basic foundation to content marketing is key to a successful content strategy. Content is everything on your website, which can be the main pages on the site; About, Contact, Products/Services, Blog/News, and FAQ pages. In terms of marketing, it is everything that can be shared; social media posts, news releases, blogs, etc.

Door County Coffee Roaster Launches Custom Facebook Landing Page Launches Ahead of Key Shopping Weekend

Signalfire is proud to launch a custom Facebook landing page for Door County Coffee & Tea just ahead of the busiest shopping weekend of the year. Signalfire designed, implemented, and provided creative marketing guidance for the promotion.

Signalfire worked with Door County Coffee to deliver the customized page as well as a geographically targeted Facebook advertising campaign. Going one step further, Signalfire developed an engagement vehicle to get coffee enthusiasts sharing their experiences.

Focusing on raising brand awareness for the Door County, Wisconsin custom roasters, the landing page encourages Facebook users to share where they “enjoy a cup of Door County”. Fans can share, tag, and view pictures of other coffee enthusiasts enjoying coffee that captures the quaint, comfortable spirit of Door County, Wisconsin.

Additional features to the custom landing page includes direct navigation to DoorCountyCoffee.com’s coffee ordering as well as the 2011 Holiday gifting page where users can order specialty baskets of coffee, tea, and other Door County-themed gifts. Seasonal updates will combine with “cup of Door County” winners, to give first-time visitors a taste of the “Cape Cod of the Midwest.”

Signalfire is excited to work with Door County Coffee on this and other future efforts! Click this link to see the custom landing page. Give them a “Like” and share a picture of your favorite place to “enjoy a cup of Door County.”

How Will Google+ Impact Your Business?

In late June, Google entered the social media race (for a third time) with a Facebook-like social networking platform called Google+. Whether businesses like it or not, Google+, sometimes referred to simply as G+, will join the main tier of social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Foursquare.

While not public, you need to receive an “invite” from an existing user to setup an account. Google+ has over 10 million users and will likely triple or quadruple those numbers before they publicly release the platform. Google+ is currently the “bright, new, shiny thing” in social media. Early adopters and hard core social media users are flocking to it.

To get a great overview of the details of Google+, I recommend this article. Another good source is Pro’s and Con’s summary from the technology news site, Mashable. Google has asked businesses and brands to refrain from making accounts. Very soon, however, Google will be rolling out their business platform and every indication is that it will be as innovative as the personal side. Bottom line: it will be worth the wait.

Will Google+ be the prophetic “Facebook killer” platform? No. Will it be a serious game-changer to social media and even search engine performance… Google+ is still Google? Yes. Question is; how will this changed game impact your business?

We’ve been asked a lot of questions this week about Google+, but the most prominent of them, “is Google+ a Facebook-killer?”

No.

But it will be one helluva game changer. The above video from Gary Vaynerchuk is a great summation why. While brands are not invited to participate in Google+, yet (prepare for another naming land-rush), a lot of people are jumping in to find some great new features.

What have you found in Google+ that works? How much have you played with it?
