Signalfire is always looking for fun, effective ways to help clients make the most out of social media and the web. The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin holds an annual street art auction, Sturgeon Around the Bay, to raise funds in the tourism promotion of Door County’s largest city.

Seventeen sculpted sturgeons are placed around the shopping districts of Sturgeon Bay in the early days of summer. Throughout the season visitors admire the ornate, beautiful creations culminating in September when each go up for auction. Proceeds are shared between local artists and the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center.

Last week, Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center asked Signalfire to come up with a clever way to showcase these pieces of art using social media and the web. Combining location-based social media, QR codes, and the SBVC website, Signalfire created a complete, measurable experience.
